Also, pressing the combination again while the power is active undoes it, unlike on the wheel.
To use shortcuts, I would have to stretch my hand to be able to cast the spell which in some case is the difference between life and death.
In my opinion they may be better than the wheel when using targeted powers. I find them to be all right for transforming outside of battle, too, when pressing e.g. Shift + 8 doesn't need to compete with moving, etc.
When using heal in battles (where it was possible), I used the wheel and it worked perfectly fine; I'll have to try using these shortcuts for that yet.
Those powers need to be activated then you press a hotkey to cast the spell associated (like dominate)
But if you need to run and transform into a wolf, a rat or just heal... Maybe dominate and the blood hunger but once you're used to the wheel, it's less confusing and faster.
If at least you could slot those powers somewhere else in the UI with their own shortcuts like just pressing X or Z to activate them instead of shift+8. Hope a mod will think about doing this.
