Any good way to farm Fish Oil?

I just massacred a small town just for a few Fish Oils. There's got to be a better way, but I dont see them as craftable options.

You can use a Fishing Pole to fish from the fishing pools for a chance for fish. When you get a fish you can throw it into your Devourer to deconstruct it for fish bone and fish oils. Just keep one of the snappers for spawning the Plague Rat to unlock your rat form.

Feeding fish to the Devourer results in fish oil, but it's horribly inefficient. Fishing takes forever, and is dependent on actually finding spots to fish. Fish are also far too valuable for other things, like keeping your snacks fed or making potions.

Best way I've found to get fish oil (and fish, honestly) is simply breaking crates and slaughtering the townsfolk around the docks on the western edge of the map. Seems like every other crate there gives fish oil.
