Difference between Coffins and Stone Coffins ?

One important difference is, the wooden coffin has to be built on grass, which means you cannot make an enclosed room with a wooden coffin. The stone coffin can be placed on a floor.

Functionally there seems to be no difference.

However, placement, as Maligner mentioned, is different.

Coffins can ONLY be placed on non-flooring; grass basically.

Stone Coffins can ONLY be placed on flooring; castle floor titles.

This seems to simply be a way to encourage players to build proper castles.

To be fair there is over a year in difference between your comment and the abvoe reply.
So maybe they didn't lie and this was changed in the 15 months between your replies.

Pre gloomrot wood coffin had to be placed on grass. Post gloomrot you can put it on any floor.

Wooden coffin is for front gate quick healing and stone coffin is for top floor respawn, repair and potion restock. Or the other way around, however you prefer.
