Why does hats drop when dieing :(? Im sad I lost my beautiful hat

you can get it back if you pick up your container. Well, depending on server settings i guess.
But yeah, it is a bit odd, and i would hate to lose the 300 silver bear hat :S

One of those things that would be nice if it was explained someplace. Someplace easy to see. Just noticed my hat was gone after making the decision to not recover my loot because 'i'm not going to lose anything important'

Turns out, i did lose something i wanted to keep.

I have never been lucky enough to get the vampire hunter hat from PvE loot, i always win mine from PvP encounters so i like this feature.

Hats are basically trophy vanities designed to be fought over.

They should give you the ability to Make a hat by buying the Recipe or getting it and salvaging it to get the recipe.
Then again, I fish up more hats then Fish. stupid how that works.
