Cant invite friend on private server?

As title says, were having problems, when I invite him through steam, he gets invite, and loads into my game to create a character, but we can not see each other on the map or in the game world, so I try and create a Clan, and invite him, but the game says that no player with that name is present on the server?

If anyone have any tips, it would be greatly appreciated,

Ive figured it out, you need to leave the cemetary before you can join
