Can't claim stairs?

Yeah, can't put a border tile on some natural stairs. Can't tell if i'm missing something or it's a bug. Anyone experiencing something similar?

The stairs are the claim. they have to be connected to your territory, If not you cant place them. Just put the stairs down instead ot trying to cliam the spot, same goes for floors, they claim the spot if they are connected to the heart.

Try building stairs on top of the stairs. Its likely the natural stairs are treated as any other slope.

Stairs, as said above, are considered a border piece in itself. That said, they also require a border slot to be placed, and borders can be attached to both sides of the stairs (or a second staircase can be placed if there is a second natural stair). You can use stairs to extend your base both up and down areas, and I recommend doing so as you can set up defenses outside of your main base with things like Tombs that summon AI for you based on what you 'create' with them, which will attack anyone who comes near (yourself included) and won't travel too far from their Tomb spawn.
