Healing
So first thing I see about the game, everything in the game, just sinks your health like crazy fast... but you take healing potions and you heal like... 2 hit points... crazy unbalanced. healing potions need buffed big time, they are practically useless.

There are other healing abilities that sustain you a lot more effectively once you learn them.

Healing potions should increase regeneration, maybe with a strong boost at the start. Also, limited carry amount.

I have not played the game yet, but are potions ever OP in so many games. Instead of playing better the gamers will just use x1000000000 potions to carry them. Like, Skyrim with carrying tons of cheese (or potions).

No this game feels like its trying to be darksoul-esk with your hitpoints and heal potions do nothing to heal you xD literally I have an easier time surviving in darksouls and Nioh. and if you think those games are easy to survive or just have op potions then your nuts.

Once I got to actual potions from alchemy table, they were alright. But with all the adds/minions, there is rarely enough time to use them. Not to mention the capped healing in combat.

The combat has a ton of action. The health potions have long start animations and heal slowly over time. They are obviously meant to top you off between battles, but by golly, that doesn't stop people from trying it in combat. Over. And over.

Read above. thats what forums are for. specially for early access games, its called feedback, you want a difference in the game, you state it, dont like it, get off the forums.

Yeah but its just that, theres a ton of action, and so many situations where you are taking damage and you cant do anything to really stop it. aside from cheese the game out. People are talking about being a noob, but I bet they just max out their gear wait till night, hide during the day, and fight only when they know they'll win lol. Outside of that, theres very little counter play, very little mechanics, and its easy to get sandwhiched inbetween where you have to take hits. specially when the game is spawn heavy like in Dawnbreak. Ever tried fighting in that town during the day? you'll very quickly see every flaw with the combat system. Honestly yeah, healing is one of the most minor versions of the game, but when you have blood mend, having healing potions to heal inbetween fights is an oximoron. They need to either, have healing, or not. where the healing potions stand in the game right now, is totally pointless and they might as well not exist. Its easier to blood mend and chomp a lil guy.

This game want to be a souls-like game but fails in every core mechanic of soulslike.

1. No real dodging, to evade more than once in 8 seconds.
2. No real blocking, a 2 second window what joke.
3. No parry options.
4. No healing potions that are worth to name it healing potion.
5. No real buff potions.. only some like 4s you will have more attackpower.

But healing, yes thats a big problem... one of the core values of a vampire is his immunity to normal weapons and superb regeneration abilites. What you have in this game... a blood healing that is so underpowered that its effectiver to use the one green healing aoe and wait. Because you don't want to spend blood to refill it with a bad buff. Because you find good bloodvalues like a needle in a haystack

Much better way of saying it then I did, as a soulesk game, its beyond terrible. (honestly I don't get why EVERYONE is trying to be soulesk. the common player base DOESN'T even like soulesk games, I say that being an avid lover of Nioh and Darksouls. but all these games trying to copy them just pisses me off, stick to your genre.)
Rant aside
You pretty much nailed it, soulslike game is a joke, but vampire lore, I cant even call my guy a vampire without laughing. He's more like a 12 year old who put in rubber fangs and has a unhealthy kink obsession. at this point it'd be more accurate to a vampire to get rid of the sun damage and make us sparkle instead.
Karax May 22, 2022 @ 11:54pm
I think the LMB during feeding animation should give you a % of HP back, that would certainly make the game better, and feel more like an actual vampire.

Nah, I read a lot of feedback. All you provide is baseless whining.

No thanks. The game isn't balanced for it. If they buff potions you can just go in recklesslly then spam your pot. I used them sometimes on bosses and they are fine as is.
TerraSleet May 23, 2022 @ 1:20am
They're fine. The max hp mechanic is there to prevent PvP fights from dragging on for ages because when anyone gets low they can't just HP pot to full in 10 seconds. If it was balanced your way, PVP would just be a battle of how many potions can one side bring to a fight. As for PVE... git gud.

Play the game for more than 1 hour and you'll realise how wrong all of those points are (even number 5, the majority of combat buffs doesn't come from potions but from 100% blood types which you can farm infinitely)
