What does sleeping do?

Seriously, what does it even do? doesn't fast forward time or anything.

It's basically to safely afk or role-playing purposes.

It's to set your respawn point.

set your respawn point, hide while AFK, not waste bone in your Brazier while avoiding the sun during daylight.

Other than that, I can't see a major use.

Pretty sure it also protects from being dragged by other players. If you leave your body stays in the world (unless in coffin) and other players can drag you around.

If you logout while online you will just float and people can drag you around. The purpose of the coffin is:
1) A respawn point
2) A safe way to ensure you are not in a floating state where no one can touch and drag your floating body.

You don't lose blood while sleeping, yes.

I'm hoping there's eventually a way to tell the time of day whilst in the coffin. Having to wake up and check is wearing thin. :)
