I just tried sending the developer, MumboJumbo, a support request and received an error saying that the email [e-mail] doesn't exist. Well... I guess the $9.99 I paid for this game is now "down the drain"....

The same here - money "well" spent. The game cannot even be launched under Win 8.1 64-bit, the process just hangs and has to be killed manually. The saddest thing about it is that the pirate version of the game works fine :-/

Since the patch for Win8, it no longer works on Win7. No new update since this was reported, still not working on Win7, seems like you are using Win8?

Just saw there is a mdmp file created on every failed launch, supposedly a memory dump...
Would it help sending/uploading this memory dump?

I was able to avoid the following steps(Win7 64-bit)

1.copy luxor folder
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Luxor Quest for the Afterlife
C:\Luxor Quest for the Afterlife
2.run "C:\Luxor Quest for the Afterlife\Luxor4.exe"
3.select "PLAY" -> "NEW ADVENTURE"
4.exit game
5.launch from Steam
(delete C:\Luxor Quest for the Afterlife)
