Hi, I am an older player, (very old). I cannot imagine the kind of hours it took to make this game, but as far as I am concerned, hours very well spent. I have had so much fun, although there were times when I didn't know whether to pull my hair out or yours. I finally finished though.
Your parents/families should be very proud of you, I know I would be. I also hope you are all very, very rich.

I love these series of games and have waited a long time for this final installment. I've gone through about a quarter of the game, I'd say, and have been having a blast. It scratches the itch for a game like "The Room" without the Lovecraftian elements.

House of Da Vinci 3 is an escape room style game set in early 1500s Italy.

I liked the first game, I thought the second game was a bit annoying in places, but unfortunately I really disliked this third game. The biggest problem is it doesn’t really feel like a puzzle game, its more like a find the hidden object game.

Most of the actual puzzles are quite easy, the solutions are pretty obvious and I solved most of them quickly. I spent the bulk of my playing time trying to find missing items to unlock things or fix broken machines, or trying to find the correct place to use a random item that I picked up, which is much less enjoyable.

Most of the time I’d be in a situation where I can’t open a door or box because I’m missing a key, I can’t use this machine because its missing a crank, I can’t use that machine because its missing a lever, I can’t use another machine because its missing a cog. Occasionally I’d have an object in my inventory, but no obvious place to use it.

So I spend 10 minutes looking around the room, sweeping my mouse cursor over every pixel of the screen watching for it changing to a magnifying glass which identifies an object of interest, or attempting to drag an item from my inventory onto every machine just in case, desperately searching for something, anything, that I can actually interact with to make some progress.

Eventually I’d give up, ask for a hint, and be told to do something that I’m sure I’ve already tried before, but now the game will actually let me do it. Maybe I didn’t drag an item onto the exact pixel required for the game to trigger its use, or I’d be pointed in the direction of a tiny thing on the corner of an object that could be twisted or pressed, and I’d feel like “how was I supposed to even see that?”. Then I’d unlock an actual puzzle, solve it immediately, and find myself at another missing item road block.

Not recommended, unless you really want to finish the series, in which case wait for a deep sale.

My favorite part of the game is how none of the voice actors know how to pronounce "Giacomo" and we get about 5 different pronunciations... including at least 3 from Leonardo's voice actor alone.

Quick Hit: Puzzles were random and too much dialogue.
Details: So far we (3 of us play these games and we are all in our 50's) have played "The Room" series, Call of the Sea, Quern, and Eyes of Ara. Da Vinci 3 has been the biggest disappointment so far. The 1st two Da Vinci's were quite good and we enjoyed them immensely. In Da Vinci 3 we noticed quite a bit of dialogue as they were trying to put a story into the puzzle game and after a while it just got annoying. But the thing that got our attention was the lack of good (and logically difficult) puzzles. You walk into a room, see a strange object, focus in on it, pull this lever, a door flops open, you push 2 latches apart and are gifted with a key. You look at another location on the same object and the key fits into it giving you an object you need. That's it. No rhyme or reason, just push and pull things and it opens. I believe that there were 2 puzzles in the entire game that we thought were decent, hard puzzles to solve, similar to the previous 2 games. In comparison, Eyes of Ara was mostly a fantastic game with difficult puzzles but it got a little tedious if you wanted to get all of the objects, but overall 99.5% excellent. Quern, by far, was the best game we have played. A perfect mix of difficult puzzles and a great environment (we just didn't like the ending, but 99.9% of that game was outstanding).
So if you haven't bought this game yet, you may want to skip it and perhaps look at another game to play. We hope that if there *is* a Da Vinci 4 that they get back to difficult, multi-layered puzzles that are logical and back off on the dialogue.

A good game like the previous installments.

It does feel like they ran out of money or time or both.
The last scene is so extremely low quality, and nothing is explained about it...

A worthy addition to The House of Da Vinci series with mechanical puzzles galore and an in-depth story/quest. If you like games like The Room, you are apt to really enjoy the House of Da Vinci games. Although all are standalone, I'd recommend playing all three, in order.

This last installment felt a bit heavier on the narrative with extended cut scenes throughout the game. If you are playing a second time through, these can all be skipped. Puzzles focus on finding parts and activating machinery. You also find letters and have a journal that is updated along the way with clues and general background information. It is a real pleasure to watch the environment unfold as you progress through each area. If you are stuck, there is a graduated hint system that is quite helpful.

Achievement hunters will earn quite a few by playing through the story. There are several missable achievements which are clearly described on the store page. And, there are achievements for competing the game in under 5, 8, and 11 hours. While most puzzles are very reasonable, there were a handful that seemed a bit random and I never did figure out where the clues were. Thus, my first pass through was fairly slow. I am a pencil-and-paper gamer so I recorded solutions, as I went, and my second time through was well under the 5 hour mark.

All in all, another well done point-and-click puzzler!

If you liked the first two, it's more the same in the best way possible. Make sure you play the first two games as the story connects.

Except for some weak points, the final game of the trilogy The House of Da Vinci 3 quite skillfully uses the achievements of its predecessors. Actually, most of the shortcomings are quite standard for games of the genre - these are small parts of mechanisms hidden in insignificant places, which are incredibly difficult to find. The plot stops in places and begins to look around, standing still, which does not benefit the pace of the story. The final of the game also turned out to be not so high quality, especially considering that this is the final of a long journey lasting three games. But all this is bought up enough by the huge number of high-quality puzzles that fall on the player from the very first screen. The level of quality of puzzles set by past games is fully supported here - I met only 2-3 puzzles that seemed faded to me, while the rest were a great pleasure. The hint system is also honed like a sharp knife and always helps very clearly and clearly when the player starts to have trouble. Most of the locations of the sequel seemed to me more beautiful than locations in this game, most of all I liked the look of the papal office here. Given the hunger that fans of big puzzle games feel, this game (and the entire trilogy as a whole) is a great gift and wonderful gymnastics for the brain. Beautiful setting, clever puzzles, inspiration inherent in the creators, all this made it possible to create a great series of games that will be remembered for a long time.

I'ts definitely worth it, i've played every game so far and i'ts really fun i'ts not like you need to be Heinstein but you're gonna have to stop and think for bit in some situations, i really hope they keep going with this franchise
