Thoughts after finishing the game
Finished the main story. Story was cute.

The main problems is the progression and repetitiveness. The base game is repetitive as hell. I know there is a mine every 40 depth. So basically the loop was, find the mine, hook it up, then dig to the next 40 depth and look for the next mine. And just repeat till you reach the bottom.

Quest wise, the quests were kinda annoying. One problem is you get quests before you even see the ore. I had the get 12 gold / 14 diamond before I even seen the ore. I got the realgar ore and thought it was a typo for regular ore and was super confused for a long time. Also didn't like the ones where we had to find rare stuff, like jewelry. Cos it had to be all in one deposit so I couldn't mine it, I had to note down where I saw these treasures and once I found enough then do the quest. Kinda annoying. Oh and the rewards. Especially late game, the rewards were terrible. I'd get like 5k or 8k or something. Which was meaningless when my upgrades cost 100k+

The passive income from mines is a lot higher then the income you get from mining ores. To a point where I ignore most ores and just focus on exploration to find mines. I mean, if I get ores its nice but its always less then what I earned passively.

And the upgrading system is not very balanced. upgrading the mech is a fixed amount and the difference between mechs is just the max stat you can upgrade. There is not much personality to each mech. Going from a maxed out low mech to a fresh Crane is a downgrade. And it costs so much to upgrade the mech, that it makes no sense to buy each mech. I went from Scorpion to Kangaroo to Crane and just skipped everything else because its just a waste buying and upgrading those. I never got to enjoy flight speed because I always maxed dirt and ore then mine speed, and by the time I got to upgrade flight speed it was extremely expensive.

And it gets progressively more expensive to upgrade, I never finished upgrading my Crane because the last few points cost like 3 million.

So my suggestions,

Quests should unlock only when you find ore of that type, or reach the depth where you can find it. So I dont get uncompletable quests.

I prefer quests to be "mine xxx amount of ore" rather then "turn in xxx ore in one shot" So I can just prioritize them, instead of having to make a list of where I saw that rare item/ore.

Mechs should have base stats. So when you upgrade to a higher tier mech, it actually is better. Still have upgrade stats, but at least the base mech be better. Also this way it makes mechs more personalized. Like you should really make mechs stand out, like one with super high dig power and flight speed, but low storage, and to contrast a high storage low flight speed, etc. Currently all new mechs feel the same until you pump in enough points.

I also feel it would be nice if mechs were upgraded via the ores you find. Like the early mechs get upgraded with tin and copper, the latter mechs get upgraded with gold and diamonds. So ore is more meaningful then just $$.

Just some thoughts and feedback.

Thanks for all the feedback! I totally understand where you're coming from and I disagree with all of your points. I've had quite some time to reflect on the game since it's released and would definitely do these things differently in the future. I'm currently working on something new (can't share too much about it yet) and I can say that I've definitely improved on the points you're mentioning.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback!
