How do I get a rat?

I need one more ingredient for the potion and that is the rat. I can see on the map that the map is somewhere near the mansion on the island of shadows. I also read that the queso is probably involved. Can someone help me with this?

I figured it out. I guess the map was indicating that the rat is IN the mansion. I had to figure out how to get in there (and it was counter-intuitive).

Well done! That's definitely one of the most difficult puzzles in the game.

To take the rat, you have to go to the man who gives the bread, but you have to wait until you are sick from hunger, knock, let you in, and you have to put the cheese on the mouse hole, (cheese you find it on the beach in the barrel)
