its kinda wonky
It's the opposite of how a perfect parry works on any other game: you must press Parry at the very instant the prompt appears, rather than when the attack is about to hit you.
So basically just mash Parry like mad even without an screen prompt and eventually you will get the five.
I think that spamming the counter button is not encouraged because Lute gets stuck in an animation and then you can't counter, at least that's what I gathered from reading the tutorials.
I just beat that one, there is a skill that lets you use synergy attacks with less "unity", then you just gotta do the basic combo of X,X, pause, X, X, X
Seriously this is very poorly designed, there should be a clearer sign about the timing, like the icon being a different color briefly or having another segment inside the circle or smth. There's no feedback at all so this is a very frustrating mechanic
Thinking about that, the perfect parry working like this make sense because in this game you're supposed to parry even in the middle of a combo or action and you're intended to be always aware of your surroundings (and that's why you get the prompt for ranged attacks). You're basically controlling two characters at the same time.
The tutorial just does a poor job explaining it.
Not sure if that's how it's supposed to be done but that's how I did it lol.
Just hit the button as soon as the prompt shows up.
Like for example why did they decide to have blue colored enemies or blue mines in a mostly blue environment.
As result it's barely possible to see some enemies in the challenge arenas...
