New Game would essentially be new game plus. You can also go into chapter select crank it up to Chimera, where you'll have to start from chapter one. Any upgrades or collectibles you found in Knight carry over if you replay on a different difficulty.

Wait, does my inventory and items carry over even if i start New game or only in chapter select? Will starting the New game delete all my progress until now?

Everything carries over. This is like Devil May Cry, there's no save slot system used, so anything you get during your play stays with you.

Since I've only used chapter select, I went and double checked and found a thread that confirms it. The only way to start a true new game is to delete your save file.

Uh... How do I start a new game?

Yeah. Sadly this game forces you into NG+
Choice isn't a thing.

For the type of player I am, I'd rather be thrown into a NG+ with a higher difficulty and all of my equipment than a fresh NG. But that's just me. Devs should give the option to start a fresh save along with that, though, for sure.

Long story short: it's really similar to games like dmc
