Fatal error at settings menu

I am unable to change any settings at the main menu without the game crashing with a fatal error. This was also a reported problem in the demo version. I am surprised this has not been addressed for the release. I will be refunding if the developers fail to comment on this as I have had my time wasted simply by downloading this game.

EDIT: After some experimenting the crash can be avoided with the keyboard and mouse. The problem is pressing confirm on a controller, regardless of the option or menu pressing confirm crashes the game. Never have I seen this issue in my life... Baffling. I'd rather not play this kind of game with a keyboard and mouse it's clearly designed with controllers in mind.

Issue has been found... For whatever reason this game does not like my switch pro controller. I have to use a different controller for the game to not crash. Ridiculous...

Same issue, but with both my Xbox Elite 2 and a 8bitdo Pro 2 controllers I'm having this problem and more, something is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ with this game. Couldn't get it to work without turning off my controller and going M+K... then had the game get stuck in an infinite loading loop where it would load, cut to black and play a half second of audio, go back to loading screen, cut to black, load, etc infinitely when trying to start up the game for the first time.

Tried to verify files, update graphic drivers, reinstalled my Bluetooth & controller drivers, switched to plugging the controllers in via USB instead... all the same issue.

I don't have the time or inclination to deal with troubleshooting this further when it's such a weirdly specific problem I've never had before, really sad since I was extremely hyped for this game... Time to refund and wait for a few patches I guess!

Just for sample size I'll mention I'm not having any problems.

Used both a scuf vantage 2 (PS4) and scuf reflex (PS5) controller. So the PS controllers seem to be fine for the moment.
