I assumed i needed 3 scythe tendons but apparently i need a tooth and 2 mower tendons. I've never come across these items in game and i don't even know where to start looking. Does anyone know? thanks.

you need two tendons and one boar prong. you get them from killing the boars. use your melee weapon to kill them to for a higher chance of getting the prongs

what are the 2 metal offerings? i use scythe tendons and they get rejected.

it is scythe tendon, but the order of putting them in matters. So there are three rocks, each takes one offering:

Rock 1: one piece of board prong
Rock 2: one piece of scythe tendon
Rock 3: one piece of scythe tendon

It only accepts a boar bone at first. Scythe tendons it rejects. Oh ok I was putting everything into a simple pointy rock lol
