How does armor work?

Reached 100% rep with Elite Cossacks and the armor for 50k is available. Atm im wearing the armor from quest with 50 armor and 20 padding. How does armor, padding and coverage apply during a hit?

armor rating works against bullet and sharp melee attacks. padding rating works against explosion and blunt melee attacks. coverage dictates how likely an attack will bypass the armor

can you give an example of how 50 armor vs 25 armor behaves? Like what happens when i get hit by 100dmg?

there's a very complicated algorithm that takes into account the armor coverage, the damage type, damage penetration (if it's a bullet), armor's condition, and also your class perk. it also combines with your helmet and whether the bullet hit your head.

If possible two examples with each 1.0 coverage and no relevant class perk.

Bullet with 100 dmg / 50 pen
Bullet with 100 dmg / 0 pen

50 pen/0 pen can't penetrate the 50 armor so 0 injury to the player.

for 25 armor, player will roughly receive 50 points of injury.
