That portal by the Zernaskaya Church will only open when you get a message that says "Evil has come to Tunguska", aka when the Halloween event starts. It happens every 7 days.

you mean the one next to the church between three rocks?
but if you know there is a portal to the punpkin man,you should have noticed the time/event.
well,however,not at midnight...how to tell without spoiler...there is a celebration (you get a green message with a "good hearing" sound...) pumpkins belong to... and during this "special celebration" the portal appears and you can enter it

has it always been on the 7th day? I accidentally stumbled on it my first playthrough. I thought it was at midnight because it just so happened to pop up while i was there haha. Thanks
