Mechanic Anomaly

How do you repair the weapons?, I've taken them to the anomaly east of town and the anomaly under the church all they both do is damage me, I've dropped them close to both anomalies and nothing happens, what am i missing?

the mad mechanic is in the gas station, via the north exit of the village, not in the church :) After you complete the first mission (clear the barn), Fidoravich will give you a quest to repair his weapons, and tell you to go through village gate, up north, to the army cordon.

I've reached the proper place in the building near the blind guy but the weapons still aren't being repaired in the pit, I cant see a repetitive pattern, throwing rocks doesn't seem to trigger anything, running around in circles, dropping into the pit , dropping the weapons into pit at different times, i can see a rainbow glow sometimes and it makes the weapons flash momentarily but then when i pick up still not fully repaired, I'm really stuck on this one, frustrating, I know the issue is on my end but im stuck lol

Let me help you :) observe the "smoke" coming out of the pit. If it's small slow smoke, then drop the weapon and it'll fix it over time. If it's "big fast smoke" then don't drop - it'll downgrade the weapon. If the pit is quiet then it doens't do anything.

There’s a little hatch door behind the garage building :)

did you receive the quest from the doctor to fix his ak47?

Yes, and I gave him an AK I found in the church, that must have ruined the quest, unless the Mechanic is reusable )

I followed your steps and issue is not happening to me lol. I got the fix-AK quest and went to the garage, clicked on the metal cellar door, and it's unlocked. I also haven't heard from anyone else with this issue. Are you sure you tried the metal cellar door :)

is 'drop' disgard'? i keep disguarding and cant find weapons

yea when you put item in the discard slot they will be dropped on the floor. Just stand in the middle of the mad mechanic, drop the weapon when the smoke is slow and small, they would be right next to you. the weapons will slowly regain durability.
