It just "stretch" the image but it's better than nothing.
To change the options, after using this, you will have to edit directly the dangerouswaters.ini file.
This is the link:

Hope this will work for you also
:-)
Stretching the graphics would distort the shape of the vessels. I wouldn't recommend it,
I did that things but don't know which one solved my problem, so: install 'RA 1.41' mod, apply 'Win 8/10 Support' file (d3d8.dll) and edit 'dangerouswaters.ini' --> 'Graphics' --> 'ModeID' 1 to 3.
I play the game 1920x1080 monitor without any black area or strange looking graphics.
I do the same thing but I'm having stuttering in the map when scrolling around and the ship data in the upper left corner of the map doesn't show up when clicking on an entity.
Actually stuttering is one of the *bad* problems for a gamer. Your Hard Drive(s), Power management, any Hardware, Drivers of your Hardware and Monitor; one or all of these things can be responsible of your stuttering.
Notes:
1- If you need help, you have to share lot more -detailed- information than that.
2- Solving problems for drivers of your hardware does not always mean an update, somethimes you need to downdate.
Just installed DW again and stumled across your post. Could you explain to me what do you mean with "apply 'Win 8/10 Support' file (d3d8.dll)"? not really sure what to do exactly. Thx!
Wow! 5 years. Too lazy to serch, are we; yeah, I know the feeling. 8D
