New Steam Download/Can't Patch
I just bought and instatlled the Steam version and have been trying unsucessfully to install the 1.04 patch. When I run the patch .exe it keeps telling me that I don't have DW on my PC, but I clearly do. I'm running Windows Vista. Any ideas here?

There should be no need to manually patch the game as steam auto-updates games whenever there's a new patch (with a slight delay for some games).
I've managed to install the Reinforce Alert mod, which requires 1.04, from a fresh install without any issues too.

Oh wow... That's good to know. Tomorrow I will try to install RA mod and see how that goes. Thanks for the reply.

OK, that isn't how it works. The Steam download of DW is not the patched version. I have tried downloading the 1.04 patch but it won't actually patch the game because when I run the patch it says the same thing, that DW is not installed on my machine, which it is because I'm able to get into the game. So, I cannot patch this game and therefore I cannot add the RA mod to the game since you need to be patched to 1.04 before using the RA mod.

Odd, I've just deleted the game and made a fresh install. Then, placed the wrapper inside the game's folder to get it to work under Win10 (don't think you need this for Vista), and it says it's 1.04 during the loading screen ( http://i.imgur.com/yiNx0lQ.png ). DW was working fine, so i installed the mod ( http://i.imgur.com/xVkdUs8.png ). I only followed what RA-DWX's download page told me to ( http://ra-dwx.narod.ru/download.htm ).
Sorry if i'm not of much help, still not an expert on this.

is your version the Steam download version? I just checked my game and it doesn't have the 1.04 version like it shows in your pic.

I take it back... When I launch the game it doesn't say which version, but when I hit Play, I see the version 104 at the bottom. OK, one problem delt with. Now to try and install RA properly.

OK, got it. Installed RA finally. Now my load screen looks like the one you posted with the RA graphics. Thanks for the info. Now I need to practice. I watch FPFchazly's Youtube videos and he makes it look so easy.
