cant join unless epic games is connected?

Hello,
i got sackboy on sale because it looked interesting but ever since then it has not been possible to join friends invitation. is there a fix? because i already have epic games connected even tho i don't want to

explain more, are you receiving the invites and when you click join it doesn't let you into the party or are you not receiving the invite at all

i solved it! all i had to do was disconnect my epic games account and i was able to play with my friend. So basically we both have to be using epic games to play together and vice versa with steam.

Anyone still having this issue? Disconnected like the above but nothing works - and we're both connected to epic launcher x steam
