All the co-op levels are optional bonus levels and there's only a few of them. You're hardly unable to "play the game you paid for".

Non serious tip: Learn Shadow Clone Jutsu and play the entire game localy multiplayer.

You can do almost every level by yourself using two controllers if you REALLY don't want anyone else to play with you
