STEAM SUPPORT FOR MODS
there is none.

I have 4 games with mods from workshop. After deleting the download cache during regular troubleshooting, those games no longer download mods. Im subscribed but they wll not download from steam, nothing in the mods folder, Plateups mods folder was deleted in entirety.
So i file a ticket with steam. I am given a list of basic troubleshooting steps you seer for all programs (restart program, computer, internet...delete cache hmmmmmm... and the KICKER delete and redownload steam which would include my entire library)
After confirming I did every step except a full reinstall because im not losing 2 weeks redownloading everything, The response im now given is

Thanks for the information.

Unfortunately, Steam Support does not provide specific assistance for issues encountered while using custom Steam Workshop content.

You will need to contact the mod creator or continue working with them for further assistance. You might also consider asking the respective community.

I'm sorry that we can't be of more help.

Because we have provided all the information we have for your issue I'm closing this help request. If you have an unrelated issue please open a new help request and we will be happy to help.

SO here i am, reaching out to the community. One to ask for any assistance steam support cannot/will not. And to keep the issue known enough to maybe get the attention it deserves

When several games won't download workshop content, it's likely an issue with your config. Maybe ask on the global Steam workshop community target than the game specific one.

Anyways, when verifying game files, it will also check for any subscribed workshop items.
Maybe you accidently disabled workshop support for the game on the game's properties?
I only touched plateup during this but checked the file for rimworld, and oxygen not included as well, BUT i checked them AFTER i saw what happened to my plateup mods. never touched config settings
i will try posting in the workshop forum when i find it
I dont know of any moddable games that have Steam support. It was my understanding mods are the responsibility of modders & always have been?
The problem isnt about the mods themselfs, but rather steam doesnt want to download any workshop item at all
Update; Last night I got a windows update and once again restarted steam, and verified the game fles. As of now Oxygen Not Included has been resolved but no change on PlateUp and Rimworld

Im absolutely certain its a steam issue. This s way to similar to the delay we sometimes get when the mods dont want to update and you have to do the workarounds to force it.

Yeah the issue will most likely kick itself right. Its just frustrating the lack of support and unwillingness to address a feature of their platform
Today I decided to try uninstalling the games, and now Plateup is fixed, no change for rimworld. Looking through the list of troubleshooting steps Im amazed that reinstalling the game isn't on there.
