Game won't load after hitting A to start

after I hit A at the main screen to play it just plays the music to a blank table screen. I have tried to verify game files (which are fine), I turned off all of my mods, I even uninstalled and reinstalled the game but it still does the same thing. I'm not sure if there's something in the steam settings in the library I can do? I really would like to play the game again

Just had this happen to us as well. New patch new bug?

More context: the game randomly started lagging on us while playing a coffee shop, local 2 player. We saved, exited, then restarted our laptop. After starting the game back up, it never left the black screen but the music played. We restarted the game and it came up but it's still lagging. May be completely unrelated...

Could probably be your save is corrupted or something, seeing as reinstalling isn't working. Try disabling Steam Cloud and move your save file (I don't know where it's stored, sorry) elsewhere, see if that doesn't help.

Exact same issue, although i haven't played the game in a while, so I don't know when it stopped working for me.

I FIXED IT, double check that your mods have all of their dependencies and or unsubscribe from all of them through the workshop
