I have no Idea how to accomplish this [Spoilers]
Currently, I'm at the point, where you have to defend the maya temple.

Let me get this straight:

(Optional) You get the Luger to kill the soldiers or kill them with the Bow
You place the bomb onto the remote car

First you kill a few soldiers so you wont get overrun
then you place the remote car with the bomb attached to it
then you drive to the cannon with the car and blow it up
in like 20 seconds

That's basically how you do it, right?

How to the ever living fxck is this possible?
Does anybody have a workarround for this or at least a somewhat decent strategy to that point in the story, cause I have tried to optimize that step so much, but I literally cannot deal with the clank of this damn car. This part is so unnaturally hard compared to everything else I have experienced in the game so far, it is really frustrating.

And I am sure if I keep on trying like this, the House in 1945 won't have any Luger magazines left soon, I wish I was kidding.

Yeah, answers apprechiated.

To quickly adress: The cannon is not in front of me, it is behind that fallen tree. I have to drive arround the rocks and trees to get to this cannon.
I thought I'd mention this since I watched a video of a guy doing this part but for him the cannon was just in front of him

In that scene there are two cannons, one on the right and one on the left.

Since this thread is already marked spoilers, I will proceed to seek clarification that you are talking about the left cannon?

The right cannon can be taken out by travelling to the different time of day for the same year(other mask piece) and shooting out the jade thing holding up the big rock that will tumble down and take out the right cannon.

If that's not what you mean, and are just trying to deal with the left cannon, then yes, it was very hard for me to complete too. I tried using the Luger at first, but my aim with it was much worse than with the bow. At least you have unlimited ammo and don't have to reload, so if you can improve your aim, it may be the better option.

I died many times. I tried to take out just a few of the soldiers as quickly as I could, or at least the ones that seemed likely to rush the temple. Then it's just about getting that car out and over to the cannon as quick as possible. Maybe getting the feel of it in another time period? You can also try throwing it as far as possible towards the cannon first and hope that it lands upright and drive the rest of the way. I honestly don't know how close it actually has to get to destroy it either. Thankfully the trial and error of retrying it isn't too time consuming.

The way I handle the second cannon is that I notice the car stays where it was driven. I would drive a bit and leave. So it only took 2 attempts to get it close enough to go BOOM.

I have to say, I am stuck at this part of the game too. This part of the game has totally changed my opinion of the game. This is a puzzle game, not an action game. Whichever developer came up with the idea for this part of the game, he should be fired. Prior to reaching this part I would have said this was one of the best games I ever played.

Then I hit this part of the game and now I would say it is a steaming pile of dogs**t. I will give this section a few more attempts and if I cannot get past it then it will be time to write this game off as time wasted and I will move on to the next game.

I don't think the devs are going to like the review I leave for this game.

Well that's a bit harsh. Not sure where you get off claiming what kind of game it's supposed to be. That's up to the devs. Personally, I think it's pretty interesting and clever to find opportunities to shake up the genre a bit by including a couple of other types of gameplay.

I agree, some of them can be a bit difficult to achieve and forward progress in the game is impeded without completing them, so perhaps they could come to a compromise, allowing a player to skip a sequence if they find it too challenging?

I would check again for all the tips/hints on completing the part you're having trouble with. It really shouldn't be that difficult. But, just because something is difficult, doesn't mean it's bad. Games should have a bit of a challenge to them.

Reading this back today, I agree, my last post was a bit of an overreaction. I have been progressing through the games puzzles very quickly and then spent over an hour failing this section and got very frustrated. I should try to remember to go away and calm down for a bit before posting.

What I will say is that I personally do not like the two action parts I have come across in the game. Fighting the Russians was okay but felt odd to me in a game of this kind. I am really not liking the mayan fight. Firstly, every time I break cover I get shot. They are using muskets, one of the least accurate bullet firing weapon you can get. This section would have been better if they included lots of sounds of bullets ricocheting around you but lowered the accuracy of the actual enemy so that you have more time to use the bomb and deal with the cannon. It isn't that easy to drive the RC car.

The "should have been fired" comment may have been overreaction, but I think you were right on with the rest of your post. I also was really enjoying this game until this part. What had been a nice relaxing time travelling puzzle solving game turned into an aggravating action sequence, which I don't much like in any VR game (since it's so hard to react fast with VR controls like this being so quirky as they are). I finally got through it but I *never* would have without looking up what to do, since I was having to figure out what to do while being shot at and dying every 10 seconds.

I really hope there's no more parts like this in the rest of the game.

This is the part that made me drop the game, that I absolutely loved until then. The combat parts are already very painful, because the gun magazines are stored in the inventory and it takes hours to reload. But when I see that in addition, you have to use a radio-controlled car that is almost impossible to drive (how the f*** was I supposed to figure this out on my own?), I think I did well not to insist. Too bad the developer wanted to insert action parts. I love VR action games. But unfortunately, action parts in Wanderer are, compared to the rest of the game, particularly badly designed.

I hope you picked it back up, because this part's really not that bad once you know what to do, and I had some great fun in the rest of the game. I'm on my second play through now, and it's become one of my favorite VR games (despite its few flaws).

*Spoilers*

If you just duck behind the stick barrier in the middle, you can guide the car to the cannon fairly easily (although I think you might have to shoot couple of guys who are advancing first). Also make sure to knock out the right cannon with the boulder before going to the lower level.

I was also about to declare this the best game ever until combat dropped in. There are millions of shooters out there, but great first person puzzle solvers in VR like Xing, Red Matter etc are stillhard to find. Such a shame, it would be great if these parts could be skipped.
So I stopped playing and started over, just enjoying the otherwise fantastic game which does about everything right, great puzzles, vast amounts of areas, adjustments, locomotion…until this destroys it all. What a pity!

I agree. They really shouldn't have tried to combine an action and puzzle scene in one. This was the only part I looked up the solution because I got tired of dying over and over while trying to figure out what to do. And if you don't bring along the items you need, your effort at solving this scenario is actually futile.

It's not difficult to do once you know what steps to take. So I would suggest looking up the solution and then just getting through the scene. There's another sequence similar to this, but the solution is the same.
