been seeing a lot of carries and learning groups though so that's pretty cool
This game is dead - there's nearly no one doing island coops for island hearts anymore.
They're losing players pretty much.

Just search an alternative game. I like Guild Wars 2 very much and you see players everywhere, even at beginner stories
Maybe i get banned for giving a better alternative than lost ark lol
because the game is over 1 year old at this point.. the stuff u said is due to poor game design for a mmo, not because the game is necessarily dead. its stuff you do once and then you are done. its no secret that every MMORPG is mainly played by old players which play since forever.
the people you see in guild wars or WoW or others are also often people leveling their alts.
in lost ark there is no need for that. stuff like island souls u do once and ur done. low level guardian raids? u skipped through them so fast even at release. now u can ignore t1 and t2 guardian raids completely and still reach t3 very fast.
also for island souls amount of servers matter much.
a game with 100k concurrent players can feel quite dead, and a game with a few thousand players can feel quite alive.
i am playing nostale right now..and the game feels as alive as some of the biggest MMO's..while only having a few thousand players.
but it only does on my server. all other servers died or are dying and slowly start to merge into the one im playing in
and a downwards trend for lost ark is not necessarily bad.for some reason seeing red numbers is always bad for some people. to them it doesnt matter if it went from 1 million to 100k or from 100k to 10k players..
but for some reason a game which goes from 5k players to 20k players? ohhhh its thriving because its amazing.
Behavior like that doesnt make ANY sense
but it is why im curious to know how many bots are still in the game. i find it hard to believe that there are even 60k concurrent real players right now
To that of any other live service game.

What you want to look at is not how many concurrent players a game has, but rather how much the number changes. As you can see from the games I linked a game's minimum concurrent players tends to be about half that of whatever it's max is.
LA's concurrent players on the other hand only drop by about 15k as opposed to the normal 30k we should be seeing. This means that around 40k of lost ark's 'players' never log out. In otherwords: they're bots.
So my very optimistic estimate is that LA has around 10k-20k actual players left.
But you made 3 mistakes, first one was only looking at weekend drops, on weekdays there's bigger drops, second mistake was comparing to FFXIV which isn't a grindy game like Lost Ark, we look at Destiny 2 which is more grindy in comparison and the numbers are almost the same in % drops. This confirms that there's not that many bots anymore compared to the past as the % drop from high peak to low peak is a lot more on par with other grindy games.
And last mistake Concurrent Players =/= Total Active Players.
Even if 30k Concurrent Players was bots and the other 30k Concurrent Players is real players, this doesn't mean there's only 30k players since they aren't online 24h each person plays at different times. There's a math behind how to find an estimate of Total Active Players using Concurrent Player numbers and using Total Hours Played as well.
One example on how to figure those numbers out is shown here: https://www.reddit.com/r/newworldgame/comments/u0ssmi/psa_concurrent_players_active_players/
You are looking at around 200k-300k Active Real Players playing the game on a Daily Basis and this is on the lower end estimation.

You can also open groups and do sidecontent while you wait for applicants. It helps. They want to rework t1, t2, t3 part 1 and t3 part 2 in a t1 and t2 System. We will see what they will make out of it.
And i know a few new player and returnees. I myself am a returnee (waiting for aeromancer, so no pushing honing for me).
That's old video, there's an arkpass running until june and it's not showing in the top right.. try to find more current videos about the game-state my friend.
Have a look!

don't waste your time in such a garbage game.
