launches faster but game runs like ♥♥♥♥ without it. Everytime you change zone you wait for things to load. I would rather wait 10min at launch tbh
You must be one of those players who crash/dc during a raid and then never comes back because he is stuck loading for +10 minutes.
''Everytime you change zone you wait for things to load.'' I'm doing una lopang just fine without having that launcher option. So I don't know what you are talking about. Either slow internet or slow pc i guess.
Maybe do a full uninstall and reinstall your Easy Anti Cheat.
Games on a NVMe 970 EVO Plus
Lost Ark being on UE3 means its more CPU dependent, a higher performing CPU also reduces loading times.
This is another thing lost ark is #1 at.
Highest start up time of all games on steam
i dont have slow pc dude. texture streaming means game deletes the textures on your gpu memory everytime you change zone, and loads it again.ITS NOT THE LOADING SCREEN IM TALKING ABOUT ITS THE TEXTURES. EVERYTIME YOU CHANGE ZONES YOU WAIT TO SKINS AND STUFF LOAD AND GAME STUTTERS A LOT WHILE DOING IT
THATS WHY PEOPLE WAIT 10 MINS AT STRONGHOLD TELEPORT. WAITING TO LOAD TEXTURES. SO ITS EXACTLY OPPOSITE OF WHAT YOU ARE SAYING. THE BLACKSCREEN AT THE START IS NOT A PROBLEM, ITS SIMPLY BECAUSE THERE IS NO SCREEN SAYING: "LOADING TEXTURES" THATS WHY THERE IS BLACK SCREN AT LAUNCH. Game runs ♥♥♥♥ with texturestreaming. With Notexturestreaming option, you load all the textures on launch, so it takes a little, but games overall runs faster and smoother. what a dum shill
I know exactly how it works mate you don't have to explain to me
With -notexturestreaming it forces the game to load every single texture file of even irrelevant stuff that you wouldn't want it to load like just an example all the story dungeons, all the old map zones that you never go there anymore, every single armor piece that most people aren't using starting at lvl 10 armor set/weapons etc. all old raids/abyss/bosses loaded for no reason... ALL THIS LOADED INTO YOUR GPU VRAM.
Without -notexturestreaming it will only load textures needed when you need them this might make some textures blurry for a few seconds also only a bit of stutter only for a few mins when you load into the game.
You are also forgetting how by having -notexturestreaming takes a huge load into your VRAM it will easily go past 8gb causing performance degradation for anyone with only a 8gb vram GPU. So no it actually makes it worse for the majority of gamers who are still using a GPU with only 8gb vram. By having a good CPU and keeping -notexturestreaming off you won't see any performance issues. The game will run just as smooth without having -notexturestreaming in the launch options.
And what does this ''disabling -notexturestreaming'' have to do with being a shill?
The person of this thread asked why his loading is taking forever and I gave him the solution, yet you came around saying the game runs like ♥♥♥♥ without it. No it doesn't. How often do you actually change zones while playing this game? Not very often and it's only during una's. In a raid it's the same zone until you are done with the raid.
Then people wonder why their games crash when using -notexturestreaming option as their GPU runs out of VRAM and starts degrading in performance and might even lead to crashing.
You are correct, if you disable notexture streaming blackscreen at launch wont happen. game will launch faster, and you will be waiting for 2 mins inside the game, frozen until textures loaded and also game will run like ♥♥♥♥, stutter a lot since its constantly loads and deletes textures, and actually make you crash loading into places.
i did try the nostream disabled after that patch with "%40 faster launch" it still stutters a lot. thats why people started using it in the first place. yes we dont travel around much anymore, but its still annoying
Texture streaming "what happens if you remove -notexturestreaming" loads textures as needed, based on visibility and distance. This uses less RAM which is better for lower end systems or older systems using older hardware with slower RAM/VRAM speeds. It also means you will likely see texture pop in along with textures will look very low quality until the system has time to fully load the textures, but it will also improve game performance...this usually fixes stutters and crashing issues by sacrificing visual quality.
.... Lost Ark is on UE3, a CPU that has good performance in both ipc and and multi tread performance can improve loading times. Also RAM speed and size can improve loading times. Some textures are stored on the RAM not VRAM, and the faster your RAM speeds, VRAM speeds, and CPU are the quicker these textures can move from the RAM to the VRAM improving loading times and texture quality or pop in.
A good CPU and good SSD and RAM will make it super smooth even without -notexturestreaming
Everyone I know has removed -notexturestreaming and is having a much better time with game loads AND performance.
Wanna know something funny? The one person in our static that was still using -notexturestreaming was always the one last to load into the raids or crashing during loading into the raid. Since he has removed it he is not having issues anymore.
Also why did you ignore about how loading every single texture file into your GPU VRAM is a bad thing for performance? This game will use way more than 8gb VRAM if you have that option enabled which leads into performance degradation and crashes for anyone using a 8gb VRAM GPU.
The answer is remove -notexturestreaming from your launch options and add this line if you haven't yet -useallavailablecores
