Hey! Many others feel the same way as u do and quit because it also.
They added solo raids to let people actually still play the game cause things have only gotten worse in terms of end game and a bigger divide that makes it harder than ever to get in groups to progress. The soloraids go up to ilvl 1620, and group stuff is more around 1660+ but realistically even higher.
However, treating the game like a solorpg is enjoyable imo up until about ilvl 1600 where costs for progression become obscene. On top of even more new rng based systems forced on u to progress or get stronger with no other options.
Nothing has really changed and only have gotten worse in a sense. Other than soloraids giving many people a way to still play. You'll be able to do the all the current story if u reach ilvl 1600, but you'll need 1640 for next weeks story. I wouldn't recommend anyone coming back to this game even if i hated them and wanted them to suffer cause i'm not that cruel. But if you do, it's not hard to get to 1580, and semi reasonable to 1600. Terrible afterwards. Good luck and have a nice day!
Gear progression still has various RNG mechanics.
You can do a lot of older multiplayer content solo now, with decreased rewards.
The newest content however will always be multiplayer until it's phased out by newer content.
This is unlikely to change.
