GS Honing Failure Rates
I was enjoying myself until I went to try and improve my gear. Failed 5 out of 7 attempts to improve gear while in the mid-500's.......then logged to play something else because I was turned off. The honing failure rates are literally the only thing that get me to log out of this game. It's unfortunate, I think this game is going to suffer over the long haul in the U.S. because of that over punishing game mechanic. It's the difference between me playing an hour or 8. I understand that there needs to be a level of difficulty in the process but it's far too punishing and feels bad.....every time.

Don't listen to this guy. if you refund the game you will get banned and it will leave a game ban message on your steam profile forever.

It's called RNG, it's in just about every game, the only difference is that here it's honest and in your face. If you play Diablo, do you get mad when after 5 runs you didn't get the unique item you wanted? That's RNG. Ever play a board game? Get mad when you roll snake eyes on the dice? That's random too. Dumb luck pervades most games on one level or another, suck it up.

I do agree that this game may suffer though... but it's not because the game mechanic is especially punishing, it's because the modern generation have no patience, no tolerance for failure, they feel entitled to instant gratification, everything has to be handed to them right now on a silver platter.

You know in T3 the honings go down to like 10%.... that's the whole point of progressing. Each failure is progression. we are all gonna be going up in Item level this whole year. Lost ark doesnt start until T3. Just quit now. If you actually being truthful mail me the gold. chump

Lol guys want honing with out failure , with out farming , with out playing the game maybe you are not the first...
T1 with all island my stuff was +14, with exchange and some dungeon, like in two , three days i get my T2, T2 with all island my stuff was +13, with chaos exchange , ship merchant and dungeon i complete my T2 in one week with multiple fail, now i farm mat for my T3. One of the best honing system compared other Mmo, you have multiple way to increase your honing rate with out paying real money inform yourself and play gently for making gold and increase your success. Everyone cry because they want to rush the game just for saying later the game is boring, they is nothing to do , i litteraly saw this in the game chat , a guys with 1380GS , stronghold level 4 , exploration level 49 , where with my 1302 GS , my stronhold was level 22 and exploration level 76. Just stop crying and play the game if you enjoy it or uninstal it , it's easy.

I will agree that failure rates on gear upgrade just piss people off. I'd MUCH prefer (and most people would agree) that simply having a much higher resource requirement with a 100% chance to hone would be preferable.

At least it's not full-on Asian bullsh*t and you "eventually" will succeed even with cosmically bad luck.

The honing rates are super super annoying, but tbqh it's necessary since they don't have quite enough real content so they have to pad it out a ton.

Oh I know they won't, wasn't expecting them to. And I knew it was going to have garbage Korean game mechanics going in. Just stating that I hate it and what would be better. The game is 100% free for me, so I'll stick around and play it here and there till I find something better.

It's RNG like hell... couple day ago i try put my weapon on +15 T1, 4x fail, even with 99,xx% chance but got for example 100% success on gear 14-15 on 3 parts on first try.

No content ?
Just open your eyes. smh
This game is full of content you didn't even know it exists because you are trying to rush without a credit card lol
Grimmz Mar 12, 2022 @ 12:23am
you're giving up too easily. i haven't swiped once yet and i'm at 1343, honing rates are hitting 15% and i'm still not feeling discouraged. i'll get it eventually even if i fail a couple.
its no big deal, just go again.. and again.. and again. until it succeeds.

the content isn't going nowhere, it'll wait for you i promise.

just do islands, rapport, make an alt or whatever. honing doesn't have to be the only thing you do, theres progress to be had everywhere. and heck you can even make gold and buy your honing supplies, its not difficult. there are hundreds of useful guides out there to make your life easier.
