Why does Russia have it's own version?
From what I've understood, the Russian version of the game is different.
I live next to Russian border, so my culture is more comparable to Russian rather than for example to French. But I'm still forced to play the Western version? Just doesn't make sense if you ask me. Why not let people choose?

But It's just idiotic when they blocking people from buying/playing the game in the region it's available just to play with friends from a different region.

In this case it's a F2P game, so see no reason why they chose to block people from getting the EU version. It would be very expensive for them who chose to do so if they want to buy skins etc with the EU prices. Same income for Amazon, just letting people chose. But that's how it is these days, unfortunately That means I "can't" play it, or won't.

Amazon doesn't publish for the Russian version that would be Mail.RU with their My.Games launcher. However they block non-Russian IPs so you'll have to VPN to it.

Steam supports the Amazon version and distribution of LA.

If you want a different version, you will have to go elsewhere.

This is correct. If you want to play the russian version you can. I did a couple times. There are tutorials online. I had to make a mail.ru account and download the game while connected to a VPN to Russian IP if I remember correct.

Different companies localize the game in different regions, and they are forced by smilegate to block IPs from different regions to provide motivation for somebody to come in and bid on localization in other regions. There are various regions Amazon isn't supporting either, and seeing how well this version released there are probably companies lining up to buy the rights to publish in those areas, if Amazon themselves isn't working on expanding the scope of their contract already. If people could just connect to whatever region they wanted there would be no reason to pay smilegate for the rights to localize as everyone would already be serviced.

interesting. you're on their northern borders and you can play the game on EU servers. I'm on their southern borders and it's region locked. no game for us. it seems like only Russians are getting RU version.
say, are you OK to give money to Russians? I'd rather play EU version than giving them even few cents.

Valid point, I got some Russian friends. But not a fan of the current government.

I feel the same. It would be much better if they stop region restrictions and let people pick any server they want. All western games are region free but asians always try to restrict us. What kind of business model is that? If you want to get profits let people access your game freely.
