how does the grind compare to other games like wow, albion, eso or last epoch
all i read is that the game has pay 2 progress, sounds the same like wow or albion where you can buy gold or experience.

but im not understanding how much grind there is...
any of these games is grindy, wow needs months to be able to raid properly. albion same thing to level up anything.
but how is lost ark? whats the difference here?

i am curious about how you are gonna see it in a few months from now, if you still play it by then, at start the raids are about learning them and for fun.. but after your 10th clear or whatever the line is for you it just becomes about efficiency and getting it over with, that is also where the toxicity in the game comes from

That's correct but it's that way in every MMO. If you don't find the fun in it then repetition is tediousness in every way.
Perhaps you are right for me too because I only ever played 2 MMOs longer than half a year, those being WOW and ESO. I'll have to see if this one has the potential to become the third. :)

Congratulations on your new job.

Enjoy your honeymoon phase while it lasts.

yeah as long as someone is still in his honeymoon phase there is nothing you can say that will change his mind. And that is totally ok.
He should enjoy the game to the fullest as long as he wants to.

Things just get funnily sour when you know you have some addicted gamer who spends more than 10hours a day in the game for months cause he can not control himself, telling everyone this game is not predatory p2w or grindy as hell! ;)

There is VERY LITTLE GRIND but it's time gated.

Compared to other games you mentionned this is about 90% easier to progress BUT, as a new player you CAN'T play that much because you are daily/weekly gated by content.

So unless you are PATIENT, this game isn't for you.

TLDR : Time played = low and progress = big, but time gated.

alright lmao

thats why people with 5k+ hours could not keep up with new content releases

LA white knights:

being able to grind 10 hours in a row = huge grind

being timegated and needing to play 1 hour every day for 10 days = little grind

mobile gamer mentality

not really, because 10 hours a day is a lot of grind if you do it 10 days in a row compared to 1 hour the same days. But that's a bit theoretical because every single mmo in the world is about grinding. There really are no exceptions.

True but grinding 10 hours per day for that long is not really that necessary either
in other games people run out of content to do beause they are not timegated

but lets keep this example going as you seem to like it:

someone grinds 10 hours per day for 10 days while being able to grind 1 char.. you make same progress as in LA in 100 days then

people in LA dont run out of a reason to play not because the game is designed better, but because its timegated on every corner like a mobile game.. therefore they never become maxed, not to mention that their efforts are split across multiple chars to extend playtime artificially

while they also keep shifting the power maximums and boosting beginners up like in most sub based games on new expansions

they are combining the worst of both worlds and basically found a glitch to generate endless amounts of money and devalue ur time and money spent in the past while being a beginner also feels awful

i dont anymore, and only reason some others still do is because the gameplay is really good, everything else is trash, change my mind

Not sure why they can't keep up.
But I know why you couldn't keep up.

You did the very thing I and many others warned you against.
Playing alts is fine. Playing alts to boost your main is also fine but only if done correctly. You didn't do it correctly and it ended up costing you.

I linked you this chart before. It shows that 1 character with 10-15 minutes gameplay per day should have been more than enough to keep up with all the raids.

Maxroll should have updated charts for later content.

I also played alts early on. But I did it correctly and abandoned the idea quickly because it just wasn't worth it.

weird that not even most content creators could keep up with newest releases recently then, but keep on shilling, maybe u will convince the people which are already playing the game since day 1

Ever feel like Lost Ark's just pretending to let you have fun your way, but actually, it's got you on a leash with those min/maxing charts? Yep, those ones. It's kinda ironic, isn't it?

My good man, you seem to forget it's not about what YOU enjoy; it's all about what the chart says! "The Chart" you don't know, you say? How can you not know about that self-made chart users share on forums! Pfffff. You're saying you're not playing like clocking in for work? Then you're playing it wrong.

Listen up. Gaming's just another task to optimize, not enjoy.

If you're not following some random internet guru's advice to the letter, apparently, you're gaming all wrong. 'Play at your own pace,' they say? More like play by their spreadsheet. Lost Ark is less about fun and more about following a strict plan!

This whole 'play it your way' spiel is just talk. That's their way of spreading misinformation and trolling you.

You only have 24 hours per day, maybe 18 when you count sleeping. But since you've got nothing else to do, you better grab that spreadsheet and min/max your day, or Lost Ark FOMO will get to you faster than quicksand!

Min/max? I think you're confused by what that chart is and what its good for.
