but the grind in LA was fine until 1460 i would say
reaching 1490 for start of brel was already so grindy, it was a line they should not have crossed further, but oh boy they did.
and how they did
for comparison, i was easily able to reach 1490 on 6 chars back then at brel release
nowadays people needed to funnel all their mats from their whole roster into 1 single char for over 6 months just to have a CHANCE of having 1 char ready for newest content.. most people did not even make it despite having played for over 4 or 5k hours
Then they changed the island material gathering. Didn't like that, but okay. Then came the ever-increasing length of time it took to farm enough mats to try and, what's it called again, (I forgot), let's call it forge(?) your gear to increase the stats. Then came another system that I never even bothered to learn (after I sort of understood the stone usage and the abilities on gear) and then something else got added and then loads of 'seasonal' (FOMO) content got added that was neither fun nor engaging nor worth it a lot of the time.
And suddenly I no longer had fun. I was effectively stranded at a certain level, doomed to repeat the exact same content over and over again, with new story content practically drying up and I just... stopped playing.
Such a shame, because the gameplay, as mentioned, was really amazing, and the depth to which you could go to customize a class was also pretty awesome. But I never was a fan of the hideous outfits they added that did not fit the world at all (like the mokoko suits and other stuff) and when it became clear the only way to progress was to log on every day for several hours and blindly grind OR buy gold, and being faced with armies of bots EVERYWHERE, well...
Goodbye LA, I had fun, but it wasn't meant to last.
