Am I essentially soft locked from honing?

So I am 1472 and ran out of the Oreha Fusion Material in order to hone again. I looked at how to obtain them and you can either research at my stronghold (requires gold) or purchase on the market (requires gold obv).

Well the problem is that I just started on the Jumpstart and I have no gold at all. I can't sell any items to gain gold because of the listing fee. So I look at another way to make gold which is the Legion raid. Unfortunately, I can't join a WTS because I obviously have no gold. So I have to match with randoms but after multiple attempts it doesn't succeed. I'm wondering if, without being carried by the kindness of others (I have no gold for WTS), it's possible to increase my item level?

Getting quite a bit discouraged and wondering if this is not a game to start in late 2023 due to gatekeeping/toxicity. Is there any way to be able to progress individually because I'm not currently seeing a way to increase my item level? Maybe I'm missing a way to earn gold?

First part: Nobody was responding after multiple attempts for an answer.

Second part: I joined my first raid and was required to pay 1000 gold. I didn't have any at the time so I said that and asked if it's normal to have to pay to raid. Chat then spammed "bus", "watch youtube", and said this is why they hate the jumpstart players, I'm best off uninstalling now, etc. I later told a friend and she explained what WTS means which was in the title so now I know not to join one of those parties. But new players aren't going to know what WTS means if anything at all. Half of them say uWu and stuff like that so I assumed WTS was just random.

ah so you ended up joining a carry group and they still ♥♥♥♥♥♥ it up?

Sounds like you got into a bad group! surprised the bus was toxic

you can start your own group, and talk to peeps as you accept them, usually the best way.

theres also discords setup like the one below to find parties of similar skill lvl and meet up

other gold earning ways

do the challenge guardians, you get lots of traceable leap stones, make a quick buck! (assuming youre not at absolute 0)

do the chaos gates when they are up, you will get 2-3k from the trade able stuff dropped from that

rng drop chance from chaos dungeons and guardians for fate ember

i think you can still run argos at that lvl too, usually groups just blasting through that

make sure you have enabled your char boost too, to get all the free mats etc, and keep an ete on the new ark pass as some of the boxes from that will give fusion materials.

Also make sure you have completed and trading in your unas, probably the most stable way of making gold with 0 input from others needed. press ctrl + j and check the unas tokens, you can trade them in for gold. if you are still unsure about this post back and i can explain more.

so you could use unas tokens, use gold from that to list drops from chaos and challange guardians = in the mean time try to find a group for valten / vykas / argos

its more about knowledge too, it feels like you didnt look for any guides before diving into the game, this is not a casual MMO like wow or ff14, LOA requires you to do your homework and study the fights you are going to do before hand, here the best tool for new player i could give to you

If you're joining 1540+ lobbies, majority will always call and book out in chat. Otw go to clock position in rest location.

Alright, I take it your static can't clear week 1 savages because you didn't know how to dps properly. Thus you needed to run praetorium everyday to buy tomestone gears to compensate your lacking skills. Even when other ways for faming tomestones were there, you kept spreading misinformation about other games while praising LA, especially ffxiv in this case. That's where you failed. No need to see what you were like in wow already. Must be grey parses, hmm?

I don't mind whether you dropped ffxiv or not actually. Yet I don't think you can discuss hardcore raiding as your experience is too much shallow.

OP, don't listen to him as he doesn't understand what he plays most of times.
