More than half of the people here dont know what ''casual'' is it seems. Why are you even bringing raids to the equation? Which part of a raid is casual? They can go on and play through story lines, do random world events, chaos/guardians, whatever they feel like and whenever they feel like it. Thats literally all there is to it. Doesnt matter how many hours a day you spend, and i'm pretty sure they arent going into this game thinking - ''Oh i need to get to max ilvl''

While that is true, imagine someone asks for a fairly monetized ARPG game.
You are gonna recommend him diablo immortal or path of exile?
Sure he can play diablo immortal without spending a penny. but which one is the better f2p/more fair experience?

So why would u recommend a hardcore raid simulator game to a casual player?

You totally disregarded every other content the game has to offer, despite me giving actual few examples of them. I could have gone on, but i thought that was enough to soldify my point. Yes, Lost ark requires you to do raids if you want to reach end game. But OP literally said ''I dont care about endgame''. They can play through the story, enjoy the combat and every other content besides few that arent fit for casual player.

Edit- And this is not really recommending them to play the game. OP clearly already had interest in the game when they wrote this forum post. Its a free game, with amazing combat and very beautiful locations to visit, stuff to collect etc etc. Going out of my way to tell them ''Dont do it because there is 10-20% of the content you will never be able to do'' is just silly

Raids only are good contents in LA. Of course OP is interested in LA but he would realize eventually later that the game has nothing to offer other than raids.

You are totally right in only spending 2-3 hours in game a day tbh
LOL :sakurabeachayumilaugh:
2-3 hours a day, every day, huh? And here I thought gaming was about fun, not clocking in for a part-time job. You might not see the grind through those rose-colored glasses, but let's call it what it is—a beautiful trap wrapped in epic quests. If you're enjoying the hamster wheel, more power to you. Just don't sell it as a leisurely stroll in the park.
:wt_facepalm:

To everyone else with integrity and who can be taken serious: Remember, denial is not just a river in Egypt—it's also apparently a viable strategy for Lost Ark enthusiasts.

-Eh? What? Did you really compare 2-3 hours a day on a hobby to clocking in part-time for a job? I feel like you just randomly picked an analogy to try to make something sound very bad.

-If you watch a 2-3 hour movie once a night as a hobby are also "clocking in for a part-time job"?

-Generally, for most 9-5 adults, after chores/errands/dinner, there are a couple hours between 8 to 11 PM that is "down-time" that people can choose to do whatever they want. Whether its video games, chess, reading, tv shows, movies, etc. There are even people that practice holding their breath, or go to the gym, etc. Surprise; they are doing that 2-3 hours a day in that "down-time" period.

-If you consider doing random quests for lore/story to random islands that each are a bit unique as a "hamster wheel"; then you can pretty apply that same analogy to every single game.

1. Killing Floor 2 -> kill zombies to level up, what a grind. Must be a hamster wheel.
2. [insert any single player game] -> figure out story/lore to beat the game, what a grind. Must be a hamster wheel.
3. CS2 -> play ranked to get better to level up in ranked, what a grind. Must be a hamster wheel.
4. [insert any MMO with rng gear drops] -> farm bosses for rng drops, what a grind. Must be a hamster wheel.

The survey measured enthusiasm for gaming and segmented respondents according to interest level. Across all platforms, gamers spend an average of 24 hours a week playing video games.
40.9 million hardcore gamers (average 37 weekly hours)
55.6 million core gamers (average 29 weekly hours)
67.3 million casual gamers (average 13 weekly hours)

-But, OP is a bit of an outlier and doesn't care for raids, so why try to derail the thread with all the stuff they don't care about? There actually is hundreds of hours of horizontal content if they wanted to pursue it. And hundreds of more hours of RNG collectible content as well which is similar to other ARPGs traditional sense of "farming bosses" for rng items.

-It feels like you just try to throw a bunch of buzzwords of hate to derail threads nowadays.

Exactly as you said. Literally hundreds of hours of various content but it all gets disregarded cuz ''raids are the only good content'' lol. Cant cope. Is it that hard to accept that some people enjoy different things than the others? To one person, raids might be the only good content, but to the other, it might be collectibles instead. Normally there's nothing wrong with that, But to be pushing that to others is a bit too much aint it lol

and lets make it clear...even tho im on the team that raids is the meat of the game, if you completely ignore lore and horizontal content you will NEVER find any group, because those gives you roster XP, skill points, cards, songs and really valuable resources for your acc in general, so at least on the first gameplay its really good to focus on that PVE side of content besides raids

after reading your post i remembered and took my "try hard" googles and saw from a newbie point of view

horizontal means runes, skill points, important stats like spec and swiftness, keys to TP, key unas for your leapstones grind, those are just from the top of my head but if we take a deep look we will find more important stuff

Just because my analogy hits too close to home doesn't mean it's off the mark. Sometimes a mirror reflects a reality we're not ready to face, and it seems like this one's done just that. But hey, if comparing hobbies to part-time jobs ruffles feathers, maybe it's not the analogy that's the problem. After all, no one gets defensive about breathing exercises or movie nights, right?

im starting to believe you are using AI to reply to us, i dont believe a human being would read this and say "yep...this makes completely sense", its like complete void of any self critcism before posting, people have fights over what type of exercises are the best, there are drama after drama because of exercises, movies is the same, fandoms after fandoms,

it feels like you want to hate this SO MUCH, that you just forget that in the outside world people DIE because of a soccer game, at the same time...you are here...telling us how we are "defensive" when we are just pointing how void of reasoning your arguments are, this is crazy, we are not even on the step of defending the game...because you didnt say ANYTHING about the game just about the players that play the game

there is not one single criticism of the game that you made until now...besides "its P2W" everyone agrees with that btw
