Where do they announce server maintenance?

I don't have twitter, there isn't anything on FB (which I also don't have, but at least you can see the newest entry), there isn't anything on their website (besides no servers shown at server status).
So where on earth can I see how long the servers are gone?

Their discord, but also maintenance has been on the same day and at roughly the same time since it released. So it kinda takes any of the guess work out of it.

so the game is having a maintenance atm? its my first time trying to play the game and im stuck on the game entry narration and cant seem to fix it no matter what? is this because of maintenance?

yep, that's because of the maintenance. It happens every wednesday

Maint is usually done at 12pm GMT (sometimes earlier about 11am). I just checked, there's an "Under Maintenance" red text on all servers. Except the Jump Start one.

Knowing its the same time every week does not help us new players. Nothing in the launcher or anywhere else (that I noticed, anyway) announced it. I thought the game was broken. As a long time MMO player, I suspected maintenance, but others might not. And having to google it just seems like bad design but, what do I know..

i thought the exact same thing that my game was broken tried fixing it for 30mins whilst getting super pissed off almost uninstalled and then found it was maintenance, would be nice if they put something in the steam news or when you launch the game doesnt make sense why they dont do it to me

I agree with you, bad design.

They should not keep players in the dark of what's happening in their servers when their games take 3-5 minutes to load, only to be greeted by some Narration screen that doesn't go anywhere.

That alone may seem like the game is actually done for. Could've done something else while waiting for maintenance instead.
