All Lost Ark servers and regions will be taken offline on Wednesday, August 29th at 12 AM PT / 7 AM UTC / 9 AM CEST for our weekly maintenance.
North America West, North America East and South America - Downtime is estimated to last up to 4 hours.
We will be conducting a region merge to fold Europe West into Europe Central. Players on Europe West will be a part of Europe Central after the merge concludes.
Europe West and Europe Central - Downtime is estimated to last up to 12 hours.
so how many hours left? for eu server
I understood that it's only 4 hours, it started at 3am US time and ends at 7am, in 38 more minutes, I think...
Like is there just some minimum wage guy clicking check windows updates, then he downloads them, restarts the server with his fingers crossed and hope to god the windows updates dont break their game... ?
I assume they have their servers all in real time raid backups and could just flick a switch to a backup server incase of a hardware failure and be back online in minutes, or am I wrong with this? If this is the case, im not sure why such long downtimes cause they could prepare the offline PC with fresh updates ahead of time and just switch it over instantly and the downtime would literally minutes instead.

This happens on the same day every week so this will happen again next week, if your worried it might be a good idea to bookmark that link so you can check.
There is so much more to a server merge then 'flicking a switch'.
Having an offline PC set up to be switched on is simply not the case. This work is all done on servers, picture a computer rack full of hardware.
With the merge there would be lots of data to be transferred and merged into the existing setup.
It's so much more than you are thinking and lots of planning goes into this sort of thing before the fact, which sometimes does not mitigate all issues.
For your specific issue you may want to consider creating your own thread to avoid confusion.
I would suggest that you contact Lost Ark Support and detail your issue there. Perhaps stating that you have "tried everything" might be ill advised, stating that implies that no other things can be done because "everything" has already been tried and the problem can not be resolved which is in fact not the case.
