U need more info?
It's evident you're here for purely game-centric, uncontentious discussions.
Truly, a master class in staying chill.
On that note, any recent experiences with bot infestations in the game?
There are bots in EQ, WOW, SWTOR, RIFT, and nearly every other MMO genre game under the sun where goods can be sold for RL money.
If you don't want to play online games with bots then don't play online games I guess? ^^
The system of LA was too friendly to bot let alone making steam accounts was way easier than making one in KR.
I don't really play much anymore though, just log in maybe once a week do get stuff from event vendor etc. play a little. But I'm not seeing really any, I can see some effects in tradable mats but it seems more like players botting are dominating the fish market, not the old "ghweajkwbgga" bots that used to.
I have 15k hours in Everquest and I can assure you at the very least 75% of that community (no matter what the server) uses a program called MQ2, and multiple accounts, because you can have multiple launchers and instances of the game open. MQ2 is a program that essentially automates your other characters using an .ini file, and makes them follow the set character. There's even a chat program built in that you can type commands to either have your other toons stop or start tasks. So you don't even ever have to alt + tab. (Search Red Guides in google)
I have thousands of days in OSRS, ever since it's inception. Bots were a huge issue for them with the first 7 years of the game. They eventually hired the guy who started the botting to create security measures towards stopping it. (You can find Youtube videos on this very easily)
Hundreds of days in WoW and I have sen bots also.
I mean you want to sit here and down this game and no matter what anyone else says you twist it to fit your own narrative or to make them look a certain way. But I have a question for you, if this game is so terrible, so p2w, so full of bots, why do you sit here and continually post about it in the games forum? I'm legit wondering. Because that comes off absolutely psychotic. You'll never change anyone with your words. There's not a single person that's ever came here, read any of your responses and said "You know what? They're right, I'm uninstalling this game." A better course of action would be to uninstall it, leave the forum, and go play something else, as most people look at the steam charts, once they see low numbers they'll not play or even try, and you'd have accomplished whatever goal you set out to do with less work.
Why the detailed exposition on botting?
It almost sounds like you have firsthand experience.
Does drawing parallels with other games make Lost Ark's issues any less relevant? Highlighting problems in other titles doesn't diminish or justify the challenges in Lost Ark. Instead of creating a robust defense, you appear to be deflecting.
Now, some questions for you:
-Why defend someone who consistently posts contradictions and exhibits an inability to engage in logical, calm discussions?
-Why are you redirecting the conversation to other games, rather than addressing the topic at hand?
-Why question my presence on this forum when the purpose of such platforms is for discussion, criticism, and exchange of ideas?
I'm here because I'm passionate about games and have firsthand experience in game development.
I've seen the ins and outs of how games are made, and I genuinely want to share that knowledge with fellow gamers.
As a dedicated game enthusiast, my aim is to discuss and shed light on issues, hoping it leads to better games in the future.
Shouldn’t we all want that for our community?
It's also worth noting that not every game on the market is there for the sheer joy of gaming.
Some titles are churned out solely for profit, sacrificing quality and genuine player engagement.
While they have their place in the industry, my goal is to spotlight and promote games that prioritize being 'fun makers' over just 'money makers'.
Guiding others to discern and choose games that truly value player experience over profit is where my expertise lies.
Gaming should be about genuine enjoyment, after all.
This kind of question seems to come from those who measure a gamer's interest by their current active gameplay alone.
In contrast, my dedication encompasses games I've moved on from, haven't revisited in a long time, or even those I've never played.
Such diverse appreciation is what sets a true gaming expert apart.
I hope this sheds some light on the matter. Thank you for approaching this with an open mind and setting aside any biases.
Have a nice day. ^^
