Characater Cross Save?

I want to be able to understand exactly how this works;

Are characters gold/items/currency all shared with each character on the same server?(i would assume not items) I didnt want to take time to log in and log out to double check! hoping someone can verify here.

Also this may be related to my inquiry.

"gold earning characters" What does this screen do ?

MOST currency is save with the roster (a Roster is a group of characters on the same server). Things like Gold, Silver, Rift Pieces, Pirate Coins, Sailing Coins Pheons all fall into this category.
There are SOME currency that is saved on a "PER CHARACTER" Basis. Things like Honor Shards & Bloodstones fall into this category.

Items that are BOUND are bound to the character they are on. Items that are ROSTER Bound CAN be traded to your other characters on the same sever thru the roster storage. Items that are Tradeable are freely tradable with other players or thru the AH.

The gold earning characters screen is for those with MORE then 6 characters. You can only earn gold from Raids/Dungeons from 6 characters (The others only get the items and can spend gold to get the chest but dont get any gold from clearing the raid).
