Not played in a couple months, I login only to see all my characters are gone.

I've not touched this game in a good while now, Figured id jump back on while I had some free time and only to be met with the confusion result of what I can only assume was a wipe.
I had 4 characters across 2 servers, 1 of which had cosmetics I purchased and was more actively playing. all gone, Not sure what or how this could have happened.

that happened beacause you was playing in one of the servers got merged. they are probably in your universal storage in character screen. you have to register them from universal storage.

Where can I find the universal storage for my characters?

go to character screen and look for universal storage right bottom corner

I couldnt find it, turned to google and the button that is shown on google search results, Simply isnt even listed in my game. Not in the Character menu, Pause menu or even guide menu.

I think you have to find the right server your server merged to, find out what server it merged to then look in universal storage

They did some server merges so you need to go to the right server.

how do I find out what is the right server, Ive no clue what server i was on initially

Look here and see if any look familiar or check each server.

You have to find the right Server Region you were in first. The servers themselves state how many toons you have on them to the right of the server name.
