When should I make a second character

bit of a noob. Ive played for around 5 hours now and was wondering when I should make a second character, I know that its important to. I just got to the salt works (I think thats its name) area.

You will get 2 VERN passes after your first character gets to 50 and thru Vern which will skip those characters directly to 50 and thru the MSQ.
Don't make a new one until then. After you have started your vertical progress on your main, then create the 2 alts with the 2 vern passes but put most of your effort into your main.

You'll also get passes every so often in updates to help progress other alts.(4-6 or even more depending on how much you're playing)

Ideally if you want to MAXIMIZE your returns for progress, you will want to have a full roster of 6. You don thave to play them every day and you can get a LOT done by just playing using rest bonus only (A roster of 6, you can play 2 characters every day and get the benefits of if you were playing 4 everyday).

But having a full roster of 6 can maximize your gold gains from dungeons.

But starting out, work on getting your Main FIRST to level 50 and into the tier progression system. After that, at LEAST create your 2nd and 3rd characters (dont have to play them) but creating them and getting them into vern at level 50 using the pass will let them start accumulating rest bonus. Mainly focus on playing your main thru T1 and T2 content, sprinkle in some island content for horizontal progress and if you got spare time, play the 2nd and 3rd characters a bit to use up some of the rest bonus.
