I play both classes, and as much as I like Gunslinger because it looks flashy, they don't do as much damage as other classes and they're usually floor POV since two of their main engravings are Grudge and CD, on top of the fact that GS is already such a squishy class.
Wardancer is great because both class engravings are good, although First Intention is more popular and is a bit stronger, Esoteric is also cheaper to build but still relatively does okay damage. Wardancer is also very agile and adds great buffs to the team.
It's your choice in the end, have fun!
Gunslinger is fun regardless of what Build your gonna play, its my 2nd alt and geared up to 1490 with all 7 gems i play Time to Hunt with Dominion set and its a piano class no cooldown and you just spam everything and has the highest mobility in the game i mean getting hit is almost non existent once you get good, ther eis also the usual Peacemaker build which i do have 4x3 for its a fun switch up once in a while. however once you experience TTH Swift Build for Gunslinger its hard not to keep it.
In PvE, Wardancers have better synergies than Gunslinger. Gunslingers not the floor cosplayers outdps Wardancers.
Gunslinger second-best lifeskiller, definitely moves faster than Wardancer.
every other person i saw says the opposite.. because its not really viable to back attack on deadeye.. so its just slightly more damage in theory
gunslinger also has the back attacks but u mod them out with tripods
i like to believe that im a decent gunslinger player, since its my favorite class, but i would have no clue on how to back attack consistently on it
am i supposed to use my movement abilities to get to the back of the boss? then how am i gonna get out of ♥♥♥♥♥♥ situations
also i have many animation locks, so by the time i would get to the back of the enemy and i charge my attacks up, then most of the time it wouldnt even hit the back
in addition deadeye deals more damage with shotgun, while gunslinger deals more damage with sniper...and its obviously easier to dish out damage from a decent range
and from what i know thats the problem with deadeye dealing more damage in theory.. practically it doesnt ( but its just what i heard from youtubers and streamers which played it.. i dont have a deadeye myself)
I say this because I have a GS, and have friends at end game with Deadeye's and GS. My friend who used to main GS switched to Deadeye mainly because their Deadeye did more damage than their GS. Their GS is 1510 item level, while their Deadeye is 1485, somehow is always mvp'ing, with the same set of lvl 7 gems. They both have maxed out tripods, but the difference is that their Deadeye is using the entropy relic set. Entropy classes do a lot of damage, simply because back attacking increases your damage and increases your crit chance by 10%, in addition the multiplicatives of the relic sets + engravings like Ambush master. I'm only speaking from my experience and 3 of my friends experiences that have GS and Deadeyes, but you're more welcome to try them out yourself in trixion and in legion raids.
Hit master classes have way easier time to play than any entropy class. Whoever for bosses who you can easily back attack entropy is super broken, so broken that is probably going to be nerfed in the next patch.
A lot of people follow maxroll GS build which is a horrible build and complain they don't do enough damage. While you could be using the thousands different build and actually do damage, that's why people chose entropy classes because they don't need to think about their build, you can get Strikers as example here.
People also don't read so they don't know 50%- sniper does more damage.
So of course Deadeye will do more damage, people don't know how to play as GS and don't bother to learn, and he has the boost from the entropy. GS is not a easy class to play but if you know how to play your damage increase proportionally.
can you tell me why the maxroll build is garbage? and what better builds there are? because i looked it up on youtube and those builds are super similar...
i dont see where we lose out on an insane amount of damage there
