Doing Cube/Tower as a Destroyer without SA/DoE isn't suicide but close.
I have no interest in any other classes right now. Running six is enough. ^ ^
That used to be the case anyway. Personally, anyone that is a high ilvl Arcanist I assume is at least pretty competent and shouldn't be any sort of burden because it's not the kind of character that appeals to a lot of people, and you don't put that many resources into something you don't intend to be good with.
She still looks and is super fun to play
My other complaints are her AoE's outside of the awakening are very very small and seem to shoot out 4-5 feet in front of her so you really need to learn proper placement before you go to cast a skill. She's not like Sorceress where you point and cast, it just automatically shoots out the way she's facing.
The card stacking mechanic seems fun, the idea is you use the 'blue card' abilities until they have the purple card marker above their head (hit them 4 times), then use a 'red card' ability to proc the debuff for extra damage. She's definitely not an easy class to play but if you can do it correctly the damage isn't terrible.
As someone said above I hope it's not like Korea where she's never allowed to go into endgame content, no one is going to put that much effort into getting a character to ilvl 1400 and play like a potato. By that point the people that dislike the class would have already given up on it rather than continue to waste mats on her.
I found Arcanist interesting and she is very agile, that you get hard to be hit. Good thing, she has cap of 8 skills, that makes a bit easier than Deadeye, who has 16 skills.
There is 3 colour of skills. Blue = Stacking up, Red = wasted stacks and Yellow is regular.
You can have 4 yellow skills, which has high burst dmg and high crit but long cooldown. That remind me of shotgun skills from Deadeye.
Bear in mind, that Deadeye isn't popular in KR, too and it's one of the less playest class.
Here in the West version, I got barely rejected at +1400.
She's loads of fun to play don't get me wrong. But even when I use Cull for a Ruin skill against a Raid boss it seems underwhelming. She feels a bit like a bard without the team assisting aspect. That is to say her damage feels comparable to my Bard as opposed to Sorceress. I really hope either this isn't intended and will be fixed or it is intended and her base damage numbers will be considered. If the Secret Chance tripod is actually increasing the damage to players in PvP further than PvE, does that not say that the PvE damage is unsatisfactory?
Overall I love the playstyle, but it seems currently to be high skill low reward. Maybe that changes with cracked Relic endgame gear sets or something. But I'm not there, so I couldn't tell you. And even if she does get to that point; I don't think being great in the tail end of gameplay is justification for being underwhelming for so long prior to that. Honestly I would trade a few seconds added to my Ruin skills' cooldowns if it meant their damage could be well, more damaging. I think the most accurate class comparison of classes I have played would be that they're like a more advanced Glaivier with damage on par with a DPS Bard. You constantly vomit low cooldown skills. Much like how a Pinnacle Glaivier pretty much always has something heavy damaging off cooldown due to her stances. But it's just not giving the same result here.
TL;DR Her damage seems underwhelmingly weak at the core and I hope she gets buffed.
