You might be missing an upgrade to get to that point, but you'd know the moment you saw the interface/buttons what you got or not. Also you have to designate stuff to grow in plots you have opened.
The old system was nicer imo, new one, not sure what the point is, you get way more mats if you go harvest yourself in the "real world" rather on the farm.
the point is management with the other new systems coming soon aka pets and such, you will spend too much time at the farm when it should be quick and simple, the purpose of the farm is just a quick harvest so you don't spend all day doing tradeskill bs if you have 11+ accounts rotating.
Wait, 11 accounts?
Alts, all share the same global trade skill energy pool on the same roster, unless there is something I am missing, the only way of refilling it ahead of the daily reset is to buy or get the login reward for refilling trades energy, what ever it is called.
There was only a set amount of spawns, I think it took all of 10-15 mins to get them all in one fully enabled T0 to "T3" farm SH, the only way to get more would be to go to someone elses SH, if you wanted to keep with SH mats. Now that takes 1 second.
So at most you would spend 30-45 mins a day harvesting if you had a fully rested energy bar, each day after, you'd only be able to do about 3K maybe 4K out of the 10K pool, since it seems like you only get back about 3K plus per day of that.
Anyway, be interesting to see what pets are about, seems like a weird mechanic to add. Unless the buffs are amazing, I can't see many people hanging out at their strong holds just to beef up pets, or what ever else might be coming eventually.
The manual labor of doing the mining/tree's etc in the stronghold is no longer a thing due to other systems that are coming soon. I prefer the new way since you couldn't get WTL's from farm stuff and it still took a bit of time to burn off life energy from doing it.
That is true but I do find Dragonmaster's suggestion quite useful.
Since the difference between the tools are the number of perks you get while resource gathering, and the perks don't come into affect when farming the stronghold, I can see why removing them would be a good idea. I find the blues cheap. The purple ones do cost 100 gold and for casual resource gathering (gathering stuff while running around the map doing other things), I think the blues are fine. If I do focus on spending a bit of time gathering resources and using my life skill points, I would definitely switch to the purple tools. Since both can be stored in the storage, I can access them anywhere I am so it is not too big a deal. Probably once I reach Vern and start opening up the daily tasks, I will have a lot more gold than I have now so I can use my purples on farm stuff and not care. For now, being pre-50 and not yet opened the daily tasks and having only 30k gold, I rather save that for other things like future honing.
This is just my preference and not a right or wrong argument.
