You can also spend real money for royal crystals and get gold that way, though you won't be able to if you don't have a trusted account.
It may not get much gold but it should be enough for you to research Stronghold stuff. Save your gold for stronghold research rather than decoration crafting since those are important to evolve your stronghold.
Edit: The above is assuming you are less than level 50 since you say you just got the stronghold, implying you are still around Luterra castle in the main quest. If you have unlocked the Abyssal Dungeons as PKmnmastr says, then that is more profitable.
there should be enough quests for you to get some gold and material. your character level doesnt matter too much after 50, the Gear you wear is what really matters. You should be able to level up that gear pretty fast so you can do the real gold earning dungeons

You just need to also upgrade your crafting house to level 2 (that research takes many hours).
So basically if your merchant doesn't sell them right now just wait util it refreshes and check again.
Regarding rabbit hunting, I thought Bilbrin Forest was pretty good. Near one of the triports, there is an area where you can hunt and the animals won't attack you so long as you don't bother them. It is also a good place for lumber. It also is popular so you may have some issues. However, early quest map is recently void of bots and players so you may be able to harvest more easily than when I was doing it.
In any case, as other said, if you look at the maps, you will find what resources are available to harvest.
Tago sells 3 different structures, but the quest OP has requires them to craft one of the fountains you get at the start.
@OP, if you get any adventure tome items, see if they're worth something. On NAW at least, a bunch of the low level blue/purple adventure tome items get merched for 100 gold+ on the regular.
If you can find a group of orange glow enemies that aren't in arthetine, you can make a bit of gold at the cost of your time/sanity.
Yes to the Adventurer's Tomb item trading. It takes more effort than harvesting so I didn't put it down but if you get a hang of it, it can bring in a lot. One way is to farm enemies to get the drops and the nice thing about this is if you are going through the quests anyway, you will get items that you no longer need for the tomb. These can be sold at the merchant for at least 1 gold and possibly a lot more.
The other way is to wait for items to come down in price, volume buy the item and then wait for them to go up in price. This is harder and costs gold to buy items but if you time it well, you can make a lot of gold. An example, North America East in the Galatur server right now, the Fiend Mask is selling for over 100 gold and it has been at that price for a few weeks now. A couple of months ago the Fiend Mask was selling for 1 gold. Even buying 100 of them at 1 gold would have brought in 10,000 gold if you sold them all at 100 gold (minus the tax). This however requires a lot of watching the market items.
I have been watching this and I have been buying and selling items based on this and this is one reason I have been able to collect over 70k gold, even though I have yet to get to Vern so that I can unlock the later game dungeons and raids. It also has given me enough gold to buy many of the engravings my Deathblade needs like Surge and Adrenaline (both at lvl 9), skins for outfits and weapons, ship upgrade items, and Stronghold upgrade payments.
Feel free to ignore this guy, if you look at his posts, all of them are about how bad the game is,but he still here in the forum looking for validation.
Regarding your question, try fishing and sell the fishes at the weekend or at reset day. You can also sell timber or ore as well.
Some items are almost not worth crafting because the cost to make vs sale price on market is very minimal. say costs 6.6 gold each for a hp pot and it sells on broker for 8gold.
very fun content,fishing,much wow.
