How does Fish trap work?

I placed it on my main switched to alt then came back to main after an hour the trap vanished. No notification nothing

theres a timer on your alerts tab.

It's only active on your current player. I'm not sure but it may disappear on zone out also. It doesn't consume energy until you harvest it at least, but don't use it if you're not going to be in the same zone for at least 15 minutes.

Don't use it in general, both traps are incredibly trash

The trap only stays active once it's caught something for a set amount of time. If you don't claim it in time, it vanishes. Zoning out or switching characters wont change this.

Fish with rod and use your fishing net.
