Thanks, I'll give it a shot
I do wish korean mmos wouldn't do that lol.
That said when you get to the point where you have to hone y our gear to 600 to reach the next item level tier or whatever. There are like 30 'guides' online that tell you that you get the mats from chaos dungeons, pirate coins, guardian raids, etc. Ignore all that stuff. Stupid ass guides made me take like 2 weeks longer than I needed to. Just get pirate coins from freedom isle and blackfang isle, spend maharenka leaves or whatever they are called to get the bloodclaw coins for more pirate coins, buy the song of resonance from the vendor in peita, goto lullaby isle and do the quest there, play the song 3 times in the secret area (kind of a pain but worth it). Then goto dreamgull isle, and boom, just doing that will get you like a month's worth of chaos dungeon mats. There are other islands with ridiculously more honing mats than most islands too, you can google them, some include serenity isle and panda isle.
Just be aware that the islands aren't even close to being equal in value, some are leaps and bounds more worthwhile than the others.
There is a lot of smaller daily events (island, world bosses, chaos gates) which is optional content if you have time for it, some more worth than others, some give special rewards like rng collectibles so you may want to do it just for them.
Your character also has some daily and weekly limits to how much they can play, or rather, how much they can play and get rewards for it, there is also rest bonus so if you don't have time or want your time to be more efficient you can just use that (you play 1/3 of the time and still keep 2/3 of original rewards).
Many people play many characters because of those daily limits, but I find the most important thing is to play at your own pace that you enjoy. If you have a lot of time and enjoy playing many characters, great, you can do that, but if you don't have too much time, don't force yourself and enjoy the game, just play what you find comfortable and fun for you. A bunch of my friends quit because they were trying too hard and eventually got bored, even though they enjoyed raids and combat in this game.
With all that said, I would also recommend you use site like maxroll to make and adjust your builds, in this game when looking for group content many people look at your build and they expect good stats and engravings (which are things that increase damage or enhance your character's specific traits).
Long answer is: Yes!
