Question about buying skins off the Auction House/Market

So I've been wanting to try and get the one of the omen skins for my gunlancer off the market (since i'm a broke boy that can't afford it with money so ya boi gotta grind that gold) but I've been reading around that people have been getting banned for buying skins off of the market.

Is there a high probability that it'll happen? Or should I just put that stuff to the side and take the risk?

Theoretically bans for this shouldn't happen anymore because they shouldn't be able to refund stuff after this long - platinum packs are no longer for sale etc.

But dunno, maybe record a video of you buying it or something xd

I've bought omen skins for a cha boost off the market as well, no ban in sight.

My hunch is that all those 'good bois' who 'never did anything bad in their lives' got banned for something else.

It's hard to say if that's actually happens or not!

I value my account more than skins I'm not willing to test it out so I rather pay real money but they have not actually release a skin that I actually care to get!

i wish i could! I don't have much money right now but I have enough gold to get a chest piece haha

It did sadly happen. Because you could buy the skin and have a friend/ other seller buy it in the shop and then refund it on steam so you make double the profit. It can always happen if you buy a omen skin set that was freshly purchased

This has already been cleared up by the CM Roxx multiple times. You won't get banned for buying skins on the AH.

Just for perspective, i've bought/sold skins more times than i can remember since the game has been out.

the main gold profit is in the armor so if you wanted to reduce your exposure you could buy the weapon box and enjoy that

Exposure to what? I don't get people, really. Hating the game is one thing, spreading false information is another.

It's your choice, the official response from the game publisher is that you won't get banned for buying skins ever.

I meant if you weren't 100% sure on things but wanted 90% of the look for gunlancer with a better chance of not getting anything refunded/ticket games or anything, the weapon box would be a safer bet

Not weighing in each way on this topic other than to say the blue omen weapon looks great on gunlancer

i appreciate all the help and information about all this! I've been enjoying the game a ton (I've played diablo for ages so this was a breathe of fresh air!) and I just didn't want to lose tons of progress because someone refunds something or something goes wrong and I get whomped by a ban haha!

I was doing research and was watching videos just to be safe about it so I appreciate all the insight by all of you! You're all very friendly ! <3

You could be banned who knows, the devs can barely address wrongful bans for it a month ago.
