All VPN's Banned to combat Bots.... can't connect

So here we go. They have now banned ALL VPN's from connecting to the game to *combat bots*. This is a HUGE kick in the nuts to any non NA player many of which have spent money and now have had their usable access to the game stolen and without chance of refund. It also won't even really combat bots very well while severely hurting the large non NA player base. Instead of real fixes such as account verification and limitation they resort to this as well as removing gold from low level newbie quests that is meant to get your stronghold going.

Now I'm not the type to post hate threads and personally loved the game as well as a very old steam member but this is just to much sadly. To harsh trying to play now and feel cheated.

They cannot stop the bots, cannot detect who's buying from RMT so we get punished for their lack of foresight, removing gold rewards, removing tradable event rewards etc. now this. Doesn't effect me but I feel for ya, it sucks and really won't do much to stem the problem.

Trotting out the ToS to basically say sorry not sorry you knew the rules. Also funny they just assume drop in traffic must of been bots, they will always find a way even if that was the case.

How you can ban a vpn?
How you can even know someone is using an vpn?
That sounds fishy, i think they banned only the free trash vpn's since those have a higher chance to be used by bots. If you buy a vpn service no one can ban you.

Game is f2p & if the game wasn't released in them region they should not play maybe, or use a proper vpn if brag about investing into a f2p game lol.

Interesting assessment. So many keep moaning 'do something, do something about the bots', yet anytime anything is done the story changes, 'I meant for you to do something about the bots, except what you've decided to do'.

The reality is that its their property to do with as they see fit. and they have far more to gain or lose than anyone playing and whining.

They don't allow regional transfers making VPN practically a necessity.. Luckily this time I chose east coast, but in New World I had to use VPN daily for using west coast servers.

"The official stance on this is that VPNs are not allowed due to both Valve and Amazon ToS. The reference can be found in section 5.2 of Amazon ToS: https://www.amazon.com/help/ags/terms Even if you are not using the VPN to get around Geographic Restrictions specifically, our legal team has informed me they are still not allowed to be used, so I must advise not to use them as your account may be banned."

You are uninformed. Even paid and tiered VPNs like Nord and Proton can have their servers caught up in batches when IPs are banned en masse. The problem with the argument of "just don't use VPN lol" is it abandons and restricts those users coming from authoritarian governments who police and control their internet use. Not everyone uses a VPN to change geographic location, more use it for the privacy features - which Amazon is effectively saying they don't care about and e.g. want to cut off all Russian or Chinese users. It's not a good way to combat botting, either, as already mentioned, so it will just harm legitimate users while failing to negate botters.
