Report a translation problem
It did make sense while I was looking -- the secret path on the left leads to the building with 2 seeds, and an empty area. I think that area was already empty when I was on the island for the first time... but nothing appeared there now :-(
Regardless, while I was poking around in the dark, I learned that the last quest was called "Truth or Dare", and apparently it doesn't go anywhere[forums.playlostark.com].
But yeah, the guy with the "keep the items" didn't elaborate; since they showed up as "junk" I sold them too. If those are needed for the quest, it's finished for me anyway :-)
Not that I care all that much -- it seems they went for some kind of "author" story line where the world is just a game. Sounds fun in theory, but as far as I'm concerned they failed completely; it was just annoying.
